Dhaka Medical College Hospital was established as a 250-bed general hospital in 1946. British WJ Major Virgin was the first Superintendent of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Since then DMCH has been a pioneer in undergraduate medical education and the largest service-providing hospital in the country. Subsequently, it has been converted into 2600 bedded tertiary level hospitals, 2300 beds for general patients, and 300 beds for Burn Units. Every day all types of patients from different corners of Bangladesh are reporting to this hospital to get better management.
